SECULAR WINERY COMPANY
When in the beautiful Torre de Roveri one arrives at Tordela, one is struck by the ample, harmonious expanse of vineyards cultivated with love, precision and up-to-date techniques. Thanks to the latest equipment, it is the only company in all of Bergamo province to harvest seventy percent of its grapes using a totally mechanised method.
The entrance into the kingdom of nature and wine is more than welcoming. One passes under a gallery over hundreds of metres long made up of vine-shoots, which holding one another transform themselves into an unusual green tunnel. An amazing cabreo exhibited in full view (map written and designed by hand) and dated 30th March 1790, documents the company’s long history. An unmistakable porch from the fifth century enriches the main part of the estate. There are many wines produced here, all of great quality. Those of Valcalepio, in its three varieties of white Valcalepio, red Valcalepio and moscato passito (red muscat grape) excel. Tordela is enclosed, below, by a suggestive line of tall cypresses; straight and pointed like exclamation marks outstretched towards the sky.
